About Us

Whether you are new to cycling, looking for some fun cycling company or super keen to take your riding to the next level, this is your platform to do so!

We at CyleStart are 2 cyclist who have a passion for cycling and would like to put what we have learned and experienced back into the cycling community.

Our Program

What does this include?


• Ride on a Saturday or Sunday (Whichever is preferred)

• Fun, organised and safe rides

• Assist with basic bike-setup before the group heads out

• Capped group sizes – 2 coaches per 8 riders (Max).

Beginners Expectations –
First 3 Weeks

Flat route – 25kms

​

• Steady comfortable pace (group dependent)

• Getting used to riding in a small group

• Assist with ensuring the group stays together

• Assist with shoe cleat clip in and out

• Assist with correct body position on bike

• Explain and practice correct breathing technique

• Assist with gear changing based on terrain

• Bike gear configuration

• Gear shift savvy

• Correct gearing for comfortable cadence

• Instructions on when to shift

• Avoid Cross-Chaining (When the chain comes off the bike)

• Basic hand signals while cycling

• Working as a group (Nobody is left behind)

• Assist with being able to drink while cycling

Each week every cyclist with receive:-

​

• 2 Water Bottles – Frozen water and juice (Return after ride)

• Whasp Energy drink

• 1 x PVM Energy bar

• 1 x USN Vooma Gel

• Reflective vest (return after ride)

• Cup of coffee and chat after the ride

Group of Road Bikers

Intermediate Expectations – 4th Week

Slightly hilly â€“ 35km to 55km (Group dependent)


• Increase the pace

• Body position during flats, climbs and downhills.

• Assist with desired cadence during climbs

• Assist with drinking and eating while cycling

• Learning to draft in group (Peloton)

• Understanding the use of a HR monitor

• Introduce more hand signals while cycling

• Ready for your 1 short race

• Discuss the various components on a bike

• What to eat before/during after a race

• Discuss various tyre pressures based on tyre size

• List of essential tools needed in your bike bag

• Bike maintenance

• Cycle races coming up

• If time – demonstrate changing a tyre using a ‘bomb’
